Fostertown Walkers Guiding Document
September 2021
Dear Fostertown Families,
We thank you for your continued patience and understanding during our arrival and dismissal times for Fostertown walkers. Please know that our priority is safely getting our students into the building in the morning and safely to parents at dismissal. Drop off and pick-up will occur in the back lower parking lot, off of Brandywine Crossing. Please review the outlined procedures for Drop-off and Pick-up below.
Drop-Off
If you plan on driving your child to school, please note the following guidelines MUST be adhered to:
- Student drop-off will take place in the back lower parking lot, off of Bandwine Crossing beginning at 9:05 am (the main entrance WILL NOT be used for drop-off until after 9:30 am).
- Cars will line up in established “drop and go lanes.”
- Please DO NOT park your car prior to 9:00 am so we do not block the flow of traffic.
- Staff will direct the first row of cars (closest to the cones) to release children for drop off beginning at 9:05 am. Please wait for staff directives to ensure students safely exit the car and enter the building.
- Parents should remain in their car and will not be permitted to enter the building.
- Please wait for the signal from staff to leave as we monitor the traffic flow to ensure the safety of our walkers.
- If you arrive after 9:30 am, please drive your child to the front entrance of the building and either escort your child to the entrance or your child may walk up to the door alone to receive a late pass to class.
Pick-up/Walkers
If you plan on pick up your child from school, please note the following guidelines MUST be adhered to:
- Student pick-up will begin promptly at 3:45 pm in the back lower parking lot, off of Brandywine Crossing (the main entrance WILL NOT be used for pick-up after 3:20 pm).
- Please DO NOT park your car prior to 3:40 pm as the gate will be closed and we do not want to block traffic.
- Parents will remain in their cars and will not be permitted into the building. Cars will line up in established “pick up lanes.”
- Staff will check-in parents electronically to begin the dismissal process for students.
- Please note if your child IS NOT a “regularly scheduled” pick-up, you must complete the dismissal change form no later than 2:00 pm and you will be required to provide ID for pick-up. We understand that emergencies happen, however please make every effort to contact the school if you are unable to complete the form in a timely manner.
If you have any further questions, please feel free to contact the building main office.
