HIGH SCHOOLERS
The Empire State Extended Day Program offers enrichment and academic opportunities for middle and high school scholars in an Extended Day setting within the District.
The program offers scholars the opportunity to work with and talk to teachers and peers in a small group setting. The program provides opportunities for scholars to learn a new skill or engage in a new activity based on their interests. The program also provides academic enrichment and programs, activities, and services to enhance the growth and development of our scholars and families. The program focuses on the academic improvement, social and emotional learning, enrichment opportunities, and the health and well-being of our secondary scholars.
ELEMENTARY/MIDDLE SCHOOL (GRADES 3-8 ONLY)
SPORTS TRAINING CLINICS EVENING PROGRAM
Empire will be offering Empire Sports Training Clinics and will be available to scholars in grades 4-8 attending any of the NECSD elementary or middle schools.
The programs will be offered on varied days and locations depending on the specific sport. Transportation will NOT be available for participating scholars. The start date for the Empire Sports Training Clinics is scheduled for April 14, 2026. If this date changes, information will be provided as soon as possible. Please make sure to complete the form with accurate email and phone number contact information.
Registration includes demographic information, information regarding policies and procedures, including selection policy, attendance policy, behavior and discipline policies; and anticipated program offerings at each campus and an opportunity for scholars to select their top program choices. There also may be field trips and guest speakers offered through the program.
Please answer all of the applicable questions so we can work to provide a successful program for our scholars.
Section 1 must be completed for all scholars (regardless of school and grade level).
Placement in a program is based on enrollment, the availability of required staff and appropriate funding. Program activity placement will be filled on a first come, first served basis. ALL scholars who submit a registration will be enrolled in the selected program as long as said program has not reached its capacity.
MIDDLE SCHOOL
AFTER SCHOOL AND SATURDAY PROGRAMMING
Empire MIDDLE SCHOOL is available to scholars in grades 6-8 attending the following schools: Meadow Hill Global Explorations Magnet School, Temple Hill Academy, Heritage Middle School, and South Middle School.
The programs will be offered on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. Middle schools will offer programming for 1 hour each day. There will also be upcoming opportunities for programs on Saturdays, including Regents Review, ENL Support, and enrichment programs.
Transportation will be available for scholars participating in the Empire Program. Start dates for the program are still tentative. If these dates change, information will be provided as soon as possible.
For the 2025-2026 school year,
After-School Program will be offered:
★ Fall Session: October 21, 2025 - November 20, 2025
★ Winter Session: December 9, 2025 - February 26, 2026
★ Spring Session: March 10 - May 28, 2026
South Saturday Academy for ALL middle school students will be offered:
★ Spring Session: March 14, 21, April 11, 18, 25, May 2, 9, 16, 30, 2026
High School
AFTER SCHOOL AND SATURDAY PROGRAMMING
Empire HIGH SCHOOL is available to scholars in grades 9-12 attending the following schools: Newburgh Free Academy Main, Newburgh Free Academy North, and Newburgh Free Academy West. Currently programming will be offered in two buildings: Newburgh Free Academy Main and Newburgh Free Academy North.
The programs will be offered on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, days and times vary by program. There may also be upcoming opportunities for programs on Saturdays, including Regents Review, ENL Support for Newcomers and enrichment programs based on interests.
Transportation will be available for scholars participating in NECSD After School Programs. Start dates for programs are still tentative. If these dates change, information will be provided as soon as possible.
For the 2025-2026 school year,
After-School Programs will be offered:
★ Winter Session: December 9, 2025 - February 26, 2026
★ Spring Session: March 10 - May 28, 2026
Rock the Regents Saturday program will be offered:
★ Winter Session: December 13, 20, 2025, January 10, 17 2026
★ Spring Session: May 2, 9, 16, 30, June 6, 13, 2026
After school programs will begin immediately after regular dismissal time and an after-school snack will be available.
The application for the Empire State After-School Program includes demographic information, information regarding policies and procedures, including selection policy, attendance policy, transportation information, behavior and discipline policies; and anticipated program offerings at each campus and an opportunity for scholars to select their top program choices. There also may be field trips and guest speakers offered through the program.
