Balmville School Scholars Visit Bannerman Island to Learn and Explore

Students in Mrs. Garcia's 5th Grade Class and Ms. Rayford's 4th Grade Class from Balmville Elementary School collaborated with Mr. Caplan (Bannerman's Island Trust) to visit the Island. Students in both classes studied the book My Name is Eleanor where they made connections to Newburgh and their personal journey through elementary school. On the Island, students identified objects, artifacts, structures, and people from the text.
