REMINDER! Early Dismissal Drill | 15 Minutes Early

This is a friendly reminder that all schools and district offices will release 15 minutes early on Friday, October 9th, as part of Orange County's early dismissal drill. Students in grades PreK-2 and Special Education must be met by a responsible person to be released from their school bus.
The district will be closed on Monday, October 12th in recognition of Columbus Day / Indigenous Peoples' Day. All schools and district offices will reopen on Tuesday, October 13th.
OCTOBER 2026
Friday, October 9th | Orange County Early Dismissal Drill (15 minutes early)
Students in grades PreK-2 and Special Education must be met by a responsible person (middle school-aged or older) to be released from their school bus.
Monday, October 12th | District Closed | Columbus Day / Indigenous Peoples' Day
Thursday, October 22nd | 1/2 day for students; 1/2 day Staff Development (1/2 day dismissal schedule)
NOVEMBER 2026
Wednesday, November 11th | District Closed | Veterans Day
Wednesday, November 25th | No school for students; Morning Parent/Teacher Conferences
Thursday, November 26th | District Closed | Thanksgiving Recess
Friday, November 27th | District Closed | Thanksgiving Recess
2026-2027 District Calendar Update
One printed wall calendar will be distributed to each family this fall in student backpacks. We will send a calendar home with the youngest and only children in our district. Families that would like to request an additional calendar should contact their child's school directly. Community members who would like to request a calendar should email Communications@necsd.net.
Add important school and district dates, including letter days, to your personal calendar by following these instructions.
