NECSD's Literacy Pilot, Lenses on Literature | Grades 7-10
Our Directors of Middle Level and Humanities recently hosted a presentation and discussion about the district's new literacy pilot. They've produced a brief overview for those who would like to stay up to date with the information but were unable to attend the information session.
NECSD's literacy pilot, Lenses on Literature, explores how purposeful literary lenses can deepen students’ reading, thinking, discussion, and writing. This presentation highlights the pilot’s approach to engaging students with literature while strengthening alignment 7-10, critical thinking, analysis, and meaningful connections to texts.
Thanks to Dr. Elisa Correa-Soto, Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum (secondary), Dr. Mariya Pushkanster, Director of Middle Level, and Mrs. Carolyne Monereau-St. Louis for putting together the information session and this summary video.
