Archie Stewart Rotary ScholarshipCriteria: The Archie Stewart Newburgh Rotary Club Award of $4,000 is given to one student this year, selected by the Newburgh Rotary Club. Carly Fund ScholarshipsCriteria: The Carly Fund Scholarships are awarded to an outstanding boy and girl who have significant volunteer experience, who work well with adults, and who have maintained an overall GPA of 90 percent or higher. These students must have participated on two varsity sport teams at NFA or have participated in at least one varsity sport and one additional athletic activity inside or outside of school.Description: The Carly Fund Scholarships in the amount of $1,000 each are awarded to an outstanding boy and girl who have significant volunteer experience, who work well with adults, and who have maintained an overall GPA of 90 percent or higher. These students must have participated on two varsity sport teams at NFA or have participated in at least one varsity sport and one additional athletic activity inside or outside of school. |

Christine and William Hotaling Memorial ScholarshipCriteria: Given to 2 seniors who are planning to attend four-year colleges or universities, have good scholastic records, and have overcome major obstacles in their lives. Circolo Cattolico ItalianoCriteria: Given to a senior of Italian background who has maintained a good academic standing and demonstrates financial need. Class of 1974Criteria: NFA class of 1974 would like to give two scholarships to one boy and one girl who are graduating from NFA in 2025. 1. Participation in both school and community services, clubs and or activities. 2. 85 GPA for all 4 years attending NFA. 3. Pursing a degree or trade which will lead to positivity and camaraderie among friends, peers and or students.Description: These scholarships are being given by the 50th reunion class of 1974. After our 50th reunion we realized it takes a village to help raise a child so we hope that these scholarships will help these two students in their quest to further their education. We believe in giving back to our community. Giving back to the community through volunteerism helps build character and makes for long time friendships so you will never be alone. We wish them well so that they can be around for their 50th reunion. |

Goldbacks Youth Football & Cheer ScholarshipCriteria: Seeking graduating seniors who have participated as a football player or cheerleader for multiple years in our youth program and have participated in football and cheer throughout high school. Applicants must have a plan to attend a 2 or 4 year college or trade school. Scholarship funds will be paid to the student and must be used for college related expenses. Students will be required to provide receipts of items purchased.Description: Our tackle football and cheer program is open to kids 5-13 years of age. We offer a fun and safe environment for you child to learn the sport. Our coaches volunteer their time to teach our kids how to be good athletes and most importantly good teammates. Our goal is for your child to enjoy the sport and being a part of a team while having fun and competing at the same time. Our organization is offering these scholarships to assist those that have come through our program and continued playing their sport throughout their high school career. Keep Inspiring HopeCriteria: Eligibility Criteria Student-Athlete Status • Must be a graduating senior from Newburgh Free Academy. • Must have participated in at least one varsity-level sport during high school. Academic Excellence • Minimum 2.9 GPA (on a 4.0 scale). • Must provide a current high school transcript. Mariano and Marie Muyot ScholarshipCriteria: Enrollment into a community college in New York State; GPA of at least 2.75; recommendation of a teacher or guidance counselor. Special consideration given to bilingual students, or someone who chooses to study a language in college.Description: This scholarship was established in the memory of our parents and grandparents. Mariano T. Muyot and Marie McCaffrey Muyot who have both passed away. Mariano was born the in the phillipeans, and left college to serve in the US NAVY for 7 years, including service in the Vietnam War. He went to work for IBM. He finished his college education at Dutchess Community College, retired from IBM and led a very happy and successful life with his wife Marie, children and grandchildren. He could not have achieved this lifestyle without the assistant of Dutchess County Community College. Marie Muyot was born in Beacon NY and was a life long educator and volunteer. She had both a bachelors and masters degree in Spanish. She taught Spanish in Elementary and High School. She taught for 30 years. After retiring she continued to tutor kids in the community for free especially for students in English as a second language. |

Peter and Demetra “The Greats” Matthews ScholarshipCriteria: Applicants must have participated in at least one Varsity Sport and be a senior attending Newburgh Free Academy. Family income should be below 100,000 to be eligible.Description: The Peter the Great Matthews Scholarship was created to celebrate and honor Peter?s memory. We are pleased to offer two scholarship to a Newburgh Free Academy senior. Peter Paul Matthews (1933-2018) was an immigrant from Skoura, Sparta, Greece. He came to the United States in 1951 to pursue a better future for his family. Ray Tweed Memorial Scholarship/TON PBACriteria: Given to a deserving senior entering college, who has demonstrated community service, & participated in high school activitiesDescription: Ray Tweed Memorial Scholarship is given by the Town of Newburgh's Policemen's Association in memory of Dispatcher Ray Tweed who, at the age of seventeen, was stricken with polio but overcame his disability to serve the residents of the Town of Newburgh from his wheelchair for over twenty-four years. |

S1 Chuck Rogers Memorial ScholarshipCriteria: The student receiving the scholarship must have maintained at least an 80 percent grade point average, will be attending a two-year or four-year college, and will major in criminal justice.Description: The S1 Chuck Rogers Memorial Scholarship is awarded in honor of Sgt. Rogers and all police officers who devote themselves to protecting the public and the nation. Sgt. Rogers was a 16-year member of the City of Newburgh Police Force. |

Coughlin Memorial ScholarshipCriteria: Given to a graduating Senior who plans to attend SUNY Orange and pursue a career as a High School teacher (preferably an English teacher) with a passion for Journalism, Creative Writing, and photography.Description: This scholarship is awarded, in loving memory of Russell Coughlin. The Visionaries of Change Alumni ScholarshipCriteria: Eligibility Requirements: 1. Must be a graduating senior from NFA 2. Must have a minimum 3.0 GPA 3. Must identify as a student of color 4. Must be pursing a major in STEM, Business, Finance, Health Sciences or Trade/Technical Fields. 5. Must submit a 500 - 700 word essay (See Prompt) 6. Must provide one letter of recommendation from a teacher, mentor, or community leader. 7. Top applicants will be invited for a interview with the scholarship committee.Description: The Visionaries of Change Alumni Scholarship was established by graduating students of color from the NFA Class of 2015 who are committed to giving back.
